A letter from our Managing Director: Financial Conduct Authority regulation update 17 June 2022
I am writing today because the FCA have announced the first 24 pre-paid funeral companies that they intend to authorise, and I think that this could be potentially confusing, particularly for customers of companies like One Life who are still having their applications assessed. As of today’s date, to be clear, no companies have been authorised. The authorisation will be given by 28th July and all the companies who have applied will know at that point whether they have gained authorisation. There are still many small firms like ours in the application process.
You can read their full announcement here:
Please note the FCA states “For the small number of firms that are still being assessed, this does not necessarily mean the FCA has concerns or that they will not be authorised when regulation begins.”
One Life continues to offer pre-paid funeral plans carefully designed to meet the needs of our customers, and which have a guarantee well beyond the standards set by the FCA – our One Life 60-day Promise. We are fully committed to the regulation process, and to our customers present and future. We thank you for your support and assure you that if you have any questions or concerns you can contact us by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 033 339 9399.
